Welcome to BulohInn

Hi there,

A big welcome to all of you fine people, kind enough to drop by this site with a very humble beginning. Thank you , and I hope you all will come back often.

BulohInn was created for me to share my own personal collection of CDs (I threw away boxes of vinyls many, many years ago... with much regret) with all of you. My collection is not much but I hope each one of you will be able to find your own little treasure, here @ BulohInn.

A lot of people ripped their CDs at CBR (Constant Bit Rate) of 128kbps bitrate, some are ripping them at 192kbps, and only a handful are ripping them at 320kbps [the max for CBR] or Variable Bit Rate (VBR) -V 0 (zero) [max for VBR]. The smaller bitrates, less thank 128kbps, have a much smaller file size and that makes it faster for downloading/uploading of the files. The downside to it is , it does compromise on the audio quality of the mp3s, But then again, each to their own, I have to say... different strokes for different folks.

As for me, I always ripped them at the max VBR [-V o] as I do not want to compromise on the audio quality. Ripping them at this bitrate offers the same audio quality of CBR320kbps but with smaller file size, and much CD-like audio quality as well... at least to my very much untrained ears.

I have been ripping using Exact Audio Copy [EAC] for quite some time now and coupled with LAME for encoding, they have easily and consistently given me high-quality mp3s. It is the best combination for me, so far.

Last but not least, enjoy yourself while you are here and I surely hope that it has been a useful and fruitful visit for you. Enjoy the music !!!

Thanks & Happy Days
Bob@BulohInn
